WEBAug 12, 2024 · I wonder if they could display the 2D monster sprites, but use the voxel models for calculating ray tracing. I just don't think the voxel models work well here, but sprites act weird with ray tracing. Overall I like stuff like this. Sure it's not how I'd want to play Doom, but making crazy changes 100% fits within the tradition of Doom.

WEBAug 19, 2019 · the problem is they have incredibly intricate lighting setups that has to be stripped down and rebuilt form scratch. of course starting with games with more rudimentary lighting set ups will be easier. once next gen consoles are in full force, we should, hopefully, start seeing games built ground up for RT. well, that and Unity getting finalized RT support, and AMD/Intel jumping into the game
