The the two big advantages over propane / electric absorption refrigerators are safety and cooling effectiveness. Great for people that are plugged into electric of have ample solar power.

I also replaced the 32" over dash TV with a 40" HDTV that also required a little alteration to the cabinet. But not enough that a halfway capable person can't do.

The ammonia absorption process is a slow process fueled by either an electric heating element or propane burner and limited by the physical size of the unit. So if you want to cool things down faster, get a bigger AC fridge with a compressor that uses more power.
