Alan Becker is a founding shareholder of the firm. He previously served as Managing Shareholder. Alan continues to play an active role in the firm, working closely with the litigation, government law and lobbying, construction and international practice areas. He began his legal career in the Office of the Attorney General and as an Assistant Public Defender (1969–1972). From 1972–1978, Mr. Becker was a State Representative in the Florida Legislature. As a member of the Legislature and the Florida Law Revision Council (1975–1976), he was the principal author and/or sponsor of much of Florida’s housing legislation, including the Condominium Act as well as the Florida Corporation Act, Mechanic’s Lien Act, Evidence Code and more.
