it is situated near the Old town side of the Charles bridge, you can pay fee to walk up the tower to see the view. It has similar style as the Lesser town tower and the Powder gate tower.Full review by ELKW

Personally I'd pick a week day if you can as seems to be quieter than weekends when it was rammed even in February! Well worth the entrance price, if a little steep (adult 190 CZK/ £6.30) for the bir…Full review by fluffymonkey

Incredibly imposing monument as the gateway to the beautiful Charles Bridge. Lots of unique sculptures and spires in the building work. It's lit up of a night time.Full review by MrMrsHappyR

Hi, When I went I automatically paid cash and I didn't look. But I can say that I have been to other towers like this one and it was possible to pay by card. Many places in Prague now accept card, even many trams have card readers so you can buy tickets directly on the tram. I know it doesn't answer your question 100%, but I think you would be able to do so. Then again, it is always to have cash on hand just in case. Sincerely, Thomas
Would you recommend visiting this tower when it first opens in the morning or later in the afternoon or evening for the best, least crowded views with the best light? Would night shots be even better for photos?

Early in the morning is great if you can, but I would do it as I walked by it. Your time is limited, and I would not want to make multiple trips to see if the line is long or short. The morning light is great--as is the evening. I do not know if it is open at night, but you can get some great night pictures on the bridge--at 10 minute walk away. There is a lot to see in the city--I would not put climbing the tower at the top of my list. As you enter the city, you will get some great "overview" pictures from the bus and from the castle.
out of this and the lesser bridge town tower, which has the better views?

Thanks for the query and request for advice. These answers are pretty good. We would say the Old Town Tower, but this is a small city and easy to get around. We stayed at Hilton and the concierge willingly answered all of my tourist type questions. Enjoy your time in Prague just a beautiful city. So much to see and do and food is marvellous. Hope this helps.
