Roy It sounds like you did some independent travel in Cuba despite what everyone says. I guess technically you are only allowed to travel with a group focused on 1 of 12 exchange activities (culture, religious, athletic, educational, etc). Did you go off on your own? I have heard some people rented a car and drove throughout Cuba with no problems. Did you book all your accommodations from the USA? Where did you obtain your Visa? Thanks for your insights Dave

We travelled from the UK. We booked our flights and main stays in Havana and Jibacoa direct on the internet. There were no problems. For our smaller stays we used a British travel agent who booked us into casas particulares and arranged for us to be driven around and between stays in private cars. They also arranged our visas for us. We had no problems at any stage of stay.
