The history is great. There is an area with graphic photos that they would walk you through faster if it’s uncomfortable. But all the info is very educational and valuable.

Absolutely. In our group touring the museum there were several children. The younger ones were not so engaged, but older children asked lots of questions which our tour guide was well able to answer. I suppose it depends on your child's attention span and maturity. The tour does last about an hour, and as has been mentioned in other answers, some of the pictures are graphic.
