We are traveling to New York in June and have never been (it’s a day trip from about 1-1/2 hours away). We definitely want to view the Canadian side (we know about the test requirements and have passports). Should we drive to the Canadian side or is it possible, and practical, to view the U.S. side and walk to the Canadian side? I am not at all familiar with the “lay of the land”. Thank you!

Walking across to Canada is possible, but it is a bit of a hike. The rules around entering and leaving Canada and the US are subject to change, so I won't address that. From the Canadian end of the Rainbow Bridge it is a reasonable walk to the Lundy Lane entertainment area. If you want to get to Victoria Park and the side of the Horseshoe Falls it is quite a bit farther, but I think bus transportation is available. The Canadian side is nicer than the NY side and worthwhile visiting if you can do it.
