On Monday, June 9, FAMU Vice President and Director of Athletics Angela Suggs was arrested in Tallahassee on fraud and theft charges dating back to her prior job. Before she joined FAMU in October 2024, Suggs was president and CEO of the non-profit Florida Sports Foundation since 2017.

“Florida A&M University is aware of allegations involving Athletics Director Angela Suggs and a former employer. While the matter is unrelated to FAMU, she has been placed on administrative leave with pay until further notice. Athletics business operations will continue under the deputy directors of athletics, Travis Glasgow and Brittney Johnson.”

Florida A&M University athletic director Angela Suggs has been arrested on fraud and theft charges for allegedly using a corporate credit card for personal use totaling more than $24,000 at her former job.
