Atlanta's Children's Healthcare moved patients from Egleston to the new Arthur M. Blank Hospital on Sunday using 65 ambulances and a helicopter.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is undertaking a massive move today. Their new facility, the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Arthur M. Blank Hospital opened at 7 a.m. and the Egleston Emergency Department is now closed. At 7:30 a.m., ambulances carrying hundreds of patients will transport them from the old hospital to the new one.

In less than 12 hours, it moved 202 patients from Egleston Hospital to the new Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Arthur M. Blank Hospital, a release said.

On Sunday morning, hospital employees and volunteers began moving patients from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston Hospital, which is being closed, to the new location. The first patient to be welcomed into the hospital was 8-year-old Brithany Morales.
