A new study from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that the autism diagnosis rate has increased among US children, continuing a long-term trend that experts have largely attributed to better understanding of and screening for the condition.

Kennedy Jr. will discuss the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s latest numbers on rising autism rates among American children on Wednesday. The CDC report looked at geographic location, race and gender of those diagnosed with autism as of 2022 and found that a record one in 31 children are diagnosed with autism by the age of 8 in the United States.
