The Buffalo Sabres fell 4-0 to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday at KeyBank Center. Buffalo generated plenty of quality scoring chances and got 36 shots on Toronto goaltender Anthony Stolarz but couldn’t break through; this marks the Sabres’ fourth shutout loss of the season.

Auston Matthews scored his 400th NHL goal, Anthony Stolarz made 35 saves, Mitch Marner reached the 100-point plateau and the Toronto Maple Leafs clinched the Atlantic Division with Tuesday's 4-0 road shutout of the Buffalo Sabres.

Although the game had a slow start, the Maple Leafs took the lead and never looked back. After a flurry of goals in the third period, they hit their milestones and officially secured the division title for the first time since 1999-00 in a traditional season format—giving them, at least on paper, the best path to the Stanley Cup Final.
