The July 1 deadline has been delayed one year for “nearly all” state workers who fall under the jurisdiction of Gov. Newsom’s return-to-office order.

Nearly 100,000 California state workers will have their return-to-office mandate delayed by a year, under a new agreement between the state and SEIU Local 1000.

Thousands of California employees will have their requirement for a return to in-person work delayed after the state reached an agreement with SEIU Local 1000. The California Department of Human Resources (CDHR) confirmed the agreement with KCRA 3 on Sunday.
