Technically a home game for the Crew despite being nearly 150 away from Columbus, the mark sets an attendance record for a Crew matchup. The number failed to break the top-20 most attended MLS regular-season games.

Columbus Crew ownership has been setting the stage for Saturday's showdown with Inter Miami inside Cleveland's NFL stadium for years, well before Lionel Messi began drawing record crowds across the league.
