Rising country music singer Conner Smith was the driver of a truck that struck and killed a 77-year-old woman Sunday in Nashville, according to multiple reports. Billboard.com reported that the 24-year-old was named in a release from the Metro Nashville Police Department on Monday. The outlet said the woman was identified as Dorothy Dobbins.

Conner Smith was involved in a fatal car accident in Nashville, allegedly struck and killed a woman walking in a crosswalk. The country music singer, 24, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado on Sunday when he hit Dorothy Dobbins, 77, according to a release shared by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

An attorney for "Creek Will Rise" singer Conner Smith said the performer's "heart goes out" to the victim's family.
