During an interview ahead of the controversial flight, King admitted it was ‘troubling’ to be seen as part of an ‘ad’ for the billionaire Bezos and his fiancee.

Katy Perry, Gayle King, Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sánchez and the rest of Blue Origin’s all-female crew posed in their space suits in a photoshoot over the weekend ahead of their journey Monday. Perry, 40, posted the pictures on Instagram and wrote, “Happy International Day of Human Space Flight Forever in awe of the Universe and it’s alignment .”

Blue Origin is scheduled to launch its latest spaceflight next week with a historic all-female crew. The mission, NS-31, is the 11th human flight for Jeff Bezos’s space tourism company, and 31st overall.
