Six German endurance track cyclists have been seriously injured after an 89-year-old drove a car head-on into the group.

On the Spanish island of Mallorca, where many races and training camps happen around this time, a terrible accident occurred Monday. According to the German Cycling Federation, six German track cycling team members were injured in a car collision.

Six members of the track cycling team were injured. Serious injuries suffered by some of the cyclists; and Guillermo Bordoy was left unconscious after being hit by a car.

German Cycling reveals detail about the incident in a statement, saying an 89-year-old man had not seen the group on the road and driven head-on into them.
