A brush fire erupted in Granada Hills Friday prompting evacuation orders that were later downgraded to warnings amid what fire officials described as “erratic winds.” The Archer Fire was reported shortly before 10:30 a.

The Archer fire broke out just after 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, near the 17000 block of Senson Boulevard in Granada Hills. The brush fire has burned one acre and is several miles west of the Hurst fire, which began Tuesday, Jan. 7, and has burned 771 acres in the Sylmar area.

The fire along the 405 Freeway severely delayed traffic in the northbound lanes near Granada Hills. A home security camera captured the moment a meteorite slammed into a homeowner's walkway in Canada. It’s believed to be the first time that clear audio of a meteorite hitting Earth has been recorded.
