Millions of Californians are still facing extreme heat advisories into the weekend. Officials are urging residents to take precautions.

“All of the heat warnings and advisories — they’ve all been extended,” NWS meteorologist Nicole Sarment said. “We’ve got a tiny disturbance (Friday), and the main threat from that will be an increase in winds, and there’s some degree of moisture. But this isn’t over yet.”

Some cities in Northern California are seeing temperatures in the upper 90s and lower 100s. Temperatures are generally in the mid-80s this time of year.
