Junior doctors in West Bengal on Tuesday resumed total ‘cease work’ to press the Mamata Banerjee government on various demands, including ensuring their safety and security at all medical establishments,

The government has approved the hiring of 1,514 additional security personnel, comprising 910 men and 604 women, for 29 hospitals and medical colleges. This initiative aims to strengthen security across all medical colleges in response to the tragic rape and murder of R G Kar.
