Kilmar Abrego Garcia was expelled from the U.S. and sent to a violent El Salvador prison even though a court order protected him from deportation.

The government claims he’s a member of the MS-13 gang, which his wife and attorney deny, and deported him to El Salvador despite a judge’s 2019 order barring him from being sent there.

Local leaders are weighing in as the president claims there's nothing that can be done to bring a mistakenly deported man back to Maryland. His family hasn't seen or heard from him in almost a month.
