President-elect Donald Trump named his new secretary of education, tapping former Small Business Administration head and former wrestling executive Linda McMahon for the position.

President-elect Donald Trump has tapped Linda McMahon, a former wrestling executive with no experience as an educator, to lead the Department of Education.

Linda McMahon served as the Small Business Administrator director during Donald Trump’s first term and is the co-founder of WWE.

The 76-year-old, who has donated tens of millions of dollars to Donald Trump’s campaigns over the years, co-chairs the transition team.

President-elect Trump is expected to chose Linda McMahon to serve as Secretary of Education in his forthcoming administration, two sources confirmed to Fox News.

Donald Trump nominated WWE co-founder Linda McMahon as secretary of the Department of Education on Tuesday, Nov. 19. His announcement follows his nomination of Dr. Mehmet Oz as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Gaetz has been tapped to serve as Trump's attorney general. President-elect Donald Trump continues to announce his picks for top jobs inside his administration, most recently naming nominees for energy secretary and to helm the Federal Communications Commission.

Ms. McMahon, a former professional wrestling executive with little experience in education policy, has long been a Trump ally. Earlier, Dr. Mehmet Oz, the celebrity physician, was selected to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
