Georgia, LSU and Tennessee are three teams likely to be in contention for national seeds against Vanderbilt. The Bulldogs have the No. 1 RPI, but the Commodores have a stronger resume in every other area, with more Quadrant 1 wins, a better SEC record, a more difficult schedule and the head-to-head sweep.

D1Baseball does not project Mississippi State to make the NCAA tournament. Baseball America doesn't either, but it lists MSU as one of the first four teams out. It has Texas-Rio Grande Valley, Iowa, Kansas State and Florida as the last four teams in the field.
