Organizers of the “No Kings” demonstrations said millions had marched in hundreds of events. In Oregon, tens of thousands of people gathered in downtown Portland for two large protests -- one that began in Tom McCall Waterfront Park and the other at the Oregon Convention Center.

Downtown Boise filled with protesters on Saturday afternoon as thousands rallied against President Donald Trump, his administration and its immigration policies. Demonstrators waved American flags, chanted and cheered as speakers criticized the administration for policies they said are harming the country and leading the country towards authoritarianism.

A national day of action, dubbed "NO KINGS," took place on Saturday at the State Capitol building in Boise, as a response to what organizers describe as "increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from President Donald Trump and his allies.

Organizers of "No Kings" protests have scheduled demonstrations in more than a dozen cities across the Gem State to coincide with what they describe as an expensive display of presidential power. The coordinated protests target what organizers call government overreach under the Trump administration.

Boise No Kings protest will be located at the Idaho State Capitol, 700 W. Jefferson St., from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Idaho Falls at Japanese Friendship Garden, 600 W Broadway St., from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Hours after the Boise rally brought thousands to the Idaho State Capitol, Nampa’s own “No Kings” rally brought hundreds of the city’s residents to Nampa City Hall.

Around 2,000 protests were planned on Saturday in opposition to President Donald Trump. Large crowds turned out in cities like Portland, Denver, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles – and in smaller communities in traditionally conservative areas.

No Kings protests took place across the country from New York City to Atlanta to Los Angeles. The 50502 Movement, which stands for 50 states, 50 protests, one movement, said the nationwide protests are aimed at calling attention to what they say are authoritarian actions of the Trump administration.
