Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed Iran's nuclear program on Tuesday at talks with the visiting Sultan of Oman, state news agency TASS quoted a Kremlin official as saying. Oman has been involved in mediating between Iran and the United States as President Donald Trump seeks an agreement that would prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.

The United States and Iran are due to hold their second round of nuclear talks on Saturday, as what both sides are looking for in a deal begins to take shape.
