Iowa men’s basketball player Payton Sandfort injured his left (non-shooting) shoulder during Friday’s game at UCLA and will miss the rest of the contest. Sandfort got tangled up with a UCLA player during the first half and went to the bench in pain.

UCLA absolutely crushed Iowa 94-70 at Pauley Pavilion to get back on track and snap a four-game losing streak of its own while Iowa picked up its second consecutive loss. However, the blowout defeat may not be the worst news from the game if you're an Iowa fan.

As has been the case for the majority of the season, Iowa was shorthanded against Nebraska. Freshman Cooper Koch was unavailable. Drew Thelwell, who started the previous five games and averaged 13.6 points during that span, did not play either due to a lingering issue

Driven by two sensational second-half performances, Iowa basketball senior forward Payton Sandfort has been honored as the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week.

Payton Sandfort scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half, sophomores Owen Freeman and Brock Harding added double-doubles and Iowa pummeled Indiana 85-60

Sandfort matched his career high of 30 points in a comeback win last week against Nebraska. And all 30 points came after halftime.
