Kodai Senga’s health, an open question for most of the past 16 months, has again fallen into the realm of uncertainty. Senga strained his right hamstring Thursday fielding an errant throw from Pete Alonso in the Mets’ 4-3 win over the Nationals.

According to manager Carlos Mendoza, Senga said he felt his hamstring grab one stride before he made a leaping grab of Alonso’s high throw.

The New York Mets are 45-24, but one of their best pitchers just landed on the injured list. Kodai Senga suffered a hamstring injury covering the first base bag on a ground ball in the sixth inning.
