Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park will remain closed over Memorial Day weekend. According to park officials, over the last week, snowplow operators have faced some setbacks from previous progress.

Wintry weather continues to close the roadway through Rocky Mountain National Park, according to the National Park Service.

Rocky Mountain National Park's Trail Ridge Road is not expected to be open for Memorial Day weekend for a second straight year, the park announced. The park did not announce when it expects to open the highest continuously paved road in North America, reaching 12,183 feet.
