Disney’s ESPN, Fox Corp. and Warner Bros. Discovery aren’t moving forward with their joint streaming venture Venu Sports, the companies said Friday, calling off what would have been a major programming bet in the face of continued legal challenges to their plans.

Venu, the live sports streaming service from ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery, isn’t happening. In a statement on Friday, the three companies announced the decision “not to move forward with the contemplated joint venture is effective immediately.”

Disney’s ESPN, Fox Corp. and Warner Bros. Discovery have thrown in the towel on their joint sports streaming service, Venu Sports, a venture that was first announced last February. The three would-be collaborators acknowledged the decision to walk away from Venu in a statement released this morning.
