Mount Adams has recorded nearly six times the amount of earthquakes typically recorded in an entire year, prompting the U.S. Geological Survey Cascades Volcano Observatory and Pacific Northwest Seismic Network to install temporary seismic stations to improve seismic monitoring capabilities and gain a better understanding of the cause of the earthquakes.
