Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to his social media platform X to unveil his most recent weight loss while using a blood sugar medication. Musk has increasingly entered the public eye since endorsing President-elect Donald Trump ahead of the Nov.

Mounjaro and Ozempic are both GLP-1 receptors that can be used to help people with diabetes. The treatments are also increasing in popularity as weight-loss options for people around the world. When it comes to the two weight-loss drug options, Musk shared his personal takes on both.

Mounjaro, which has been dubbed the "King Kong" of weight-loss drugs, is considered more effective than its competitors with fewer side effects. It received FDA approval for weight loss in November 2023 under the brand name Zepbound. In the UK, the drug will be available on a limited basis through the NHS starting in April.

Elon Musk uses the weight-loss drug Mounjaro, he newly revealed, as he jokingly referred to himself as “Ozempic Santa” in a Santa suit. Taking to the social media platform he owns, X (formerly known as Twitter),

“While no drug is without side effects, health problems associated with obesity almost certainly exceed the risks of GLP-1 agonists,” Musk said as early as Oct. 2023. GLP-1 agonists are a class of medications that can help manage Type 2 diabetes and obesity.

The tech billionaire celebrated Ozempic in a Christmas Day social media post that contrasted with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s stance on the drug.
