Bayer Leverkusen forward Martin Terrier has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury. Leverkusen said Sunday that an MRI scan confirmed a torn Achilles. Terrier sustained the injury in his right ankle early in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The German club did not delay in treating its player, who was on the billiards table. “Martin Terrier underwent successful surgery. Get well soon” wrote the club crowned German champion last season.

The 27-year-old Martin Terrier joined Bayer Leverkusen in the summer from Stade Rennais and has two goals and an assist in the German Bundesliga this season.
