Erik and Lyle Menendez were 19 and 22 years old when they were arrested on murder charges in the killings of their parents. If released from prison three decades later, they would reintegrate into society as men in their 50s who have spent the majority of their adult lives incarcerated.

As a Los Angeles Superior Court judge Friday ruled that the resentencing request for the Erik and Lyle Menendez can go forward, the Beverly Hills brothers are pursuing legal avenues that could lead to reduced sentence and possibly even a release from prison after 35 years behind bars.
