The US State Department ordered diplomatic posts around the world to “resume processing” of Harvard University student and exchange visitor visas on Friday after a judge halted President Donald Trump’s latest attempt to block international students from coming to the institution.

Experts advise international students to prepare for US studies, as US authorities have halted the issuance of new appointment slots for student visa applicants.

The department’s latest instructions cap off a week in which President Trump's attempt to ratchet up his assault on the college was temporarily thwarted by the courts.

The new cable was sent a day after consulates were directed to reject visa applications for foreign students planning to study at Harvard.
