Port Huron police are investigating a fatal shooting and a vehicle fire that happened early Tuesday minutes apart and about two blocks apart, officials said. Officers were called at about 12:15 a.m. to the 3000 block of Vanness Street for a blaze, authorities said. They arrived and found a vehicle just off the roadway engulfed in flames.

PORT HURON, MI – Police have identified the victim in a homicide that took place Tuesday morning on Vanness Street in Port Huron. Vincent Buckles was the 35-year-old man who police found with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the Port Huron Police Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Port Huron Assistant Police Chief Jeremy Young said there is no evidence to suggest there is a threat to the public after a recent fatal shooting. The department is continuing to investigate the death of a 35-year-old man in Port Huron who was found dead about 12:31 a.
