A font in which each character is the same width. The "i" takes up the same horizontal space as an "m." Courier is a common monospaced font. Contrast with proportional spacing. See Courier.

OpenAI is still working as it expands the typeface to include global scripts and a monospaced version, ultimately replacing the six or seven different typefaces previously used across its products.
