Sanders — Colorado’s polarizing star quarterback — completely fell out of the first round Thursday night in the 2025 NFL Draft. In a shaky quarterback draft class, just two quarterbacks went in Round 1: Miami’s Cam Ward at No. 1 to the Titans and Mississippi’s Jaxson Dart at No. 25 to the Giants.

Sanders was not in attendance in Green Bay, instead opting to watch the draft from home in Texas, alongside his father Deion Sanders and brother Deion Sanders Jr. The elder Sanders posted a speech from his son after the first round, in which he admitted the proceedings didn't go according to plan but said he wasn't going to be discouraged.

Shedeur Sanders is still waiting for his name to be called during the 2025 NFL draft. The New York Giants traded back into the first round, moving up from the 34th pick to the 25th pick and selected a quarterback. It wasn't Sanders. Instead, they picked Ole Miss signal-caller Jaxson Dart.
