A new StarCraft game would give one of Blizzardâ s all-time great franchises a much-needed shot in the arm, but producing a shooter spin-off instead of a true StarCraft 3 could be a fatal mistake.

Previously, Blizzard was famously working on Starcraft Ghost, a third-person action adventure shooter set in the sci-fi universe. That ultimately was canceled in 2006.

Blizzard is reportedly receiving a number of pitches for new StarCraft video games from Korean studios.
