Tage Thompson is going to miss at least one game for the Buffalo Sabres after Devils forward Stefan Noesen knocked him out of the game on Sunday with a hit to the head that resulted in a match penalty.

The Buffalo Sabres announced Tuesday that Tage Thompson will be out day-to-day with an upper-body injury following the illegal check that New Jersey Devils forward Stefan Noesen delivered.

Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson left Sunday’s game against the New Jersey Devils after taking a high hit from Stefan Noesen in the third period. Noesen received a match penalty and a game misconduct for the play, while Thompson did not return. It's still unknown if Noesen will hear from the NHL regarding a possible suspension.
