Three women have been charged for attempting to smuggle to over $80,000 worth of illegal drugs into the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women.

Two members of a Virginia gang were sentenced on Monday in connection with the abduction and murder of a woman in 2023.

At least three prisons have a 50% vacancy rate, with some so short-staffed that they have been incapable of complying with policies on safety, medical treatment and solitary confinement.

Three people have been arrested following a seizure of more than $80,000 of illegal drugs at the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women.
