Pairings for first round of AHSAA playoffs. The playoffs kick off Monday and the first round ends on Thursday.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association has sanctioned three programs with fines, forfeitures, and playoff bans. In addition to the adjusted records, Coosa Christian, Fultondale, and Charles Henderson cannot participate in this year’s Alabama high school football playoffs.

The ASWA prep committee's primary responsibilities include conducting regular top-10 rankings of a variety of high school sports, and select all-state teams in those sports as well. The committee will determine the winner of a variety of annual awards including the annual Mr. Football winner, and the Jimmy Smothers Courage Award.

The Knights suffered their second-straight loss last week, falling 35-21 on the road at Coosa Christian. Despite the loss, Tuscaloosa Academy still remains atop 2A, Region 5 standings. Last week: Ranked No. 10. This week: vs. Bayside Academy.

After several weeks of battles on the gridiron, Tuesday’s polling results are in - the College Football Playoff (CFP) committee chose the Oregon Ducks as the nation’s top team in the first edition of this season’s rankings.

Now as we head towards the latter end of the high school football season in Maine, the playoff picture has fully come to light and so are the rankings. With teams jostling for postseason position, every game from here on out means plenty with November coming right around the corner.
