The Garda website has crashed after it published CCTV images of 99 ‘persons of interest’ in the investigation into last year's Dublin riots.

A 28-year-old man who set a garda car on fire, jumped on the bonnet of another garda car and attacked an accommodation centre for international protection applicants on the night of the Dublin riots last year said he was not racist but got "caught up in the thing" and "did it without thinking".

On Tuesday morning, the force launched a website containing CCTV images of the 99 people they were hoping for information on related to the disorder in November of 2023.

Gardaí have removed five of the 99 images of people they want to speak to in relation to last November’s Dublin riots from their website. An Garda Síochána said the purpose of the mass publication was to either rule people “in or out” of ongoing criminal investigations.

Senior gardaí have said they "will not give up" until everyone involved in the Dublin Riots is brought to justice as they published pictures of 99 'persons of interest' wanted as part of the investigation.

The purpose of the public gallery was to identify the 99 ‘persons of interest’ to either rule each individual ‘in or out’ of and progress the criminal investigative process.
