Police are investigating a shooting at a protest in Salt Lake City, in which a bystander was killed. A man was charged after driving through a crowd in Culpeper, Va.

Thousands marched and rallied peacefully during the No Kings OKC protest on June 14, the same day as the U.S. Army 250th Anniversary military parade.

Democracy is “in real trouble,” Mark Ruffalo told MSNBC’s Antonio Hylton while attending the “No Kings” rally in New York City Saturday. His words were echoed by Ellen Pompeo, Kerry Washington, Jimmy Kimmel, and many more notable people and celebrities who spoke out in support of the nationwide protests.

A crowd-size expert from the U.K. estimates that between 10,000 to 15,000 people attended Saturday's protest in downtown Chicago. But some estimates say 75,000 people gathered downtown.

"No Kings" protests are going on around the country, including here in Cincinnati. A protest was held on UC's campus at 11 a.m.

Between activism, election results and protest turnout, the prevailing political winds suggest the backlash to the president is real.

At least one demonstration, about 70 miles from Washington, D.C., in Northern Virginia, was met with violence when a man intentionally drove an SUV through a crowd of departing protesters, striking at least one person,
