We got an exclusive first look Wednesday at initial renderings of the proposed new multi-use Sacramento State football stadium amid the university's push to join the Pac-12.

Sacramento State released renderings of how its new 25,000-seat stadium will look like. President Luke Wood announced last week that architectural firm Populous is behind the design for the state-of-the-art facility.

The new facility will increase seating capacity to more than 25,000 and be able to host multiple sports as well as events such as Commencement and Convocation.

A “state-of-the-art” facility could help the university vault its football and other sports into a major spectator destination.
