Swedish police have detained a 16-year-old suspected of shooting and killing three people in the city of Uppsala on Tuesday.

STOCKHOLM - A 16-year-old person was detained early on Wednesday on suspicion of murdering three people in a hair salon in the Swedish city of Uppsala, Swedish prosecutors said. Read more at straitstimes.

"Several people have been found with injuries that indicate gunfire," the statement said. A local hospital declined to comment on the condition of those injured. Police said they had cordoned off a large area and had begun an investigation.
