The Texas Education Agency on Thursday morning released 2-year-old academic accountability scores for school districts and campuses statewide, giving parents the first full picture of how the state has rated public schools since 2019.

The release comes after the TEA prevailed in a lawsuit which challenged the legality of changes to the rating system.

After a nearly two year delay, school districts across Texas finally learned how their schools performed in the 2022-23 school year through the Texas Education Agency’s accountability ratings.The ratings were blocked from going public by a lawsuit from teachers who said the TEA left them out of the loop when changing the grading system,
