A casual-style Mexican restaurant in South Los Angeles has been given the top spot on Yelp's Top 100 U.S. Restaurants 2025 list.

California restaurants scored 37 spots on the Top 100, more than twice last year’s number and far more than any other state. SoCal eateries dominate this year’s state honorees, with a seafood counter in Los Angeles, Holbox, ranking No. 1. And a sizeable number of Central Valley restaurants from Rocklin south to Fresno made the list.

Houston was robbed. Only one local restaurant appears on a highly-anticipated annual ranking of U.S. restaurants. Yelp released its Top 100 US Restaurants 2025 list Wednesday morning. This year's list focuses on restaurants that offer high quality at "fair" prices.

Tucson has lived up to its UNESCO City of Gastronomy designation, taking six spots on Yelp’s Top 100 US Restaurants 2025 list.

Yelp released its 2025 ranking of the best restaurants in the United States, and a Los Angeles restaurant took the top spot.

A self-described “order-at-the-counter seafood stand” in South L.A. made it to the top of Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat for 2025. Holbox is located near the entrance of a food hall called Mercado La Paloma in the Figueroa Corridor of Los Angeles. Customers wait for more than an hour to order “some of the freshest seafood around,” according to Yelp.

Yelp released its 12th annual Top 100 Places to Eat of 2025 featuring a wide variety of restaurants all across the country. Last year, Mr Max in Irving was the only North Texas eatery to be included.

Heirloom, 8398 North Fresno St. in Fresno, was No. 50 on Yelp’s list of the best restaurants in the nation. The restaurant in Fresno’s Park Crossing shopping center has an average Yelp rating of 4.6 stars out of five, with reviewers praising its “great customer service” and “delicious homemade food.”
