MELBOURNE, Australia -- Coco Gauff 's forehand and serve abandoned her at the worst time at the Australian Open on Tuesday, and the No. 3-seeded American was eliminated in the quarterfinals by No. 11 Paula Badosa of Spain 7-5, 6-4.
In her last Grand Slam quarterfinal, the Spaniard fell apart in New York. She took the lessons to Gauff in Melbourne, and won.
Badosa knocked World No.3 Coco Gauff out of the Australian Open and entered her maiden Grand Slam semi-finals, becoming only the fourth Spanish woman to do so.
