Bruce Springsteen is one of the many figures from the worlds of rock and soul to pay tribute to Sam Moore, who died on Friday, aged 89. "Over on E Street, we are heartbroken to hear of the death of Sam Moore, one of America's greatest soul voices," Springsteen said in a statement on his website.

Sam Moore of Sam & Dave called Scottsdale home for 30 years. His friend Alice Cooper says, "There's a Phoenix family and he was certainly part of it."
