A shuttered Bridgeport Stop & Shop is changing hands, but the new owners are sticking with a plan to turn the defunct supermarket into a self-storage facility.

The blaze had been a two-alarm fire, Josef said.

Police say two officers were shot in New Haven Wednesday morning. A suspect is dead. They say the officers were trying to serve a search warrant out of West Haven before a standoff and exchange of gunfire between the suspect and police. The suspect was killed in the exchange.
