Tiger Woods says moving the Genesis Invitational from fire-ravaged Pacific Palisades to Torrey Pines will help 'raise more money for all the losses that have incurred.'

Genesis Invitational host Tiger Woods said he felt it important to keep the Los Angeles-based event in Southern California at Torrey Pines as the area recovers from a series of deadly wildfires.

Tiger Woods admitted that it was "very difficult" to relocate The Genesis Invitational to Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego in the wake of the wildfires in California.

The PGA Tour recently announced that Torrey's South Course would replace Riviera Country Club this year after a devastating wildfire in Pacific Palisades, California.

Tiger Woods said the goal was to keep the Genesis Invitational on or near the West Coast. It was moved to Torrey Pines outside of San Diego.
